The landscapes are breathtaking and have as much appeal as the plot line of this effort.

TÝR is a folk metal band hailing from the most unlikely place of the Faroe Islands. The islands themselves are located in the Atlantic Ocean, about 200 miles north of the United Kingdom, halfway between Norway and Iceland. The islands have been a self-governing country, within the Kingdom of Denmark, since 1948.

This is an impressive background for a group that has been active since 1998. They’ve been releasing their form of pagan metal consistently since 2002. The latest record, Hel, was released on March 8th 2019 via Metal Blade Records.

A new music video for the song “Ragnars Kvæði” has just been unveiled to promote this effort. A theatrical offering with some performance clips thrown in, this is a vision of majestic beauty.

The landscapes are breathtaking and have as much appeal as the plot line of this effort. A pair of trinkets, stone with a surreal connection to the past are the main point of interest. Transported to another time and place, our characters have trouble differentiating dreams from reality. These visions have a purpose and lead our heroes to each other! Was this a past life experience coming full circle? “Ragnars Kvæði” is a musical picture with a lot of replay ability.

Experience the visions of TÝR for yourself and if you stumble upon some rune stones, be careful when you sleep! \m/
