As compelling as this performance is, it appears to be shrouded in mystery. I haven’t been able to find out anything about this band.
I got into watching WWE last year and I must admit that I became enamored with the theme song of Shinsuke Nakamura. The song, “The Rising Sun”, was an undisputed hit. A gracefully compelling track that quickly became a fan favorite. It seemed to be hummed by the whole WWE Universe whenever Shinsuke arrived for a match.
Unfortunately, the song “The Rising Sun” is no more. Nakamura has embraced the dark side and has changed his entrance theme to prove it. The new song, “Shadows of a Setting Sun” debuted a couple of months back. It includes a music video by a Japanese act named Shadows of the Sun.
A performance offering, the video is what appears to be a studio effort of the band recording. The visuals are captivating. I could watch the violinist play all day. Not only is she beautiful but those tattoos are just amazing.
As compelling as this performance is, it appears to be shrouded in mystery. I haven’t been able to find out anything about this band. Rudimentary searches on the internet have turned up albums by Insomnium (Shadows of a Dying Sun) and Ulver (Shadows of the Sun) but nothing about this mysterious Japanese act.
In addition, I haven’t found a proper English translation for the lyrics. I find that strange when you consider how popular this video is, it has over 2.9 million views! It makes me wonder, is Shadows of the Sun a band created exclusively by WWE to perform this remix? Perhaps we’ll never know but I will admit this offering seems perfect for Nakamura’s recent change in persona.
Check out “Shadows of a Setting Sun” and let the mysterious power of the WWE impact you! \m/
