The new visuals offer a performance from hell. If you’ve never heard Shadow Of Intent be prepared to be devastated.
My main reason for working in this business is to tell you about the blood thirsty bands you’ve never heard of before. Shadow Of Intent is more than the name of a space carrier in the video gaming universe of Halo.
It’s also the name of a melodic deathcore act from Connecticut. Shadow Of Intent was formed in 2014 as an internet based project between Ben Duerr (Vocals) and Chris Wiseman (Guitars / Samples).
The group has been releasing material at a steady pace with an EP (Inferi Sententia – 2014) plus two full length albums Primordial (2016) and Reclaimer (2017). Although Shadow Of Intent has been on national tours with metal acts such as The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, Carnifex, Oceano and Fleshgod Apocalypse, the band currently has no record deal.
I believe their new effort, Melancholy, released on August 16th of 2019 is going to change that. Shadow Of Intent may have started as a deathcore act, due to the breakdowns, but now they are so much more. In my mind, they have entered the realm of extreme metal. A genre driven by symphonic, prog, black, death metal and death core elements. The new music video “Embracing Nocturnal Damnation” will open your eyes and ears to this extremity reborn!
The new visuals offer a performance from hell. If you’ve never heard Shadow Of Intent be prepared to be devastated. Although the melodic comparisons to symphonic black metal masters Dimmu Borgir (Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia) are not unfounded, I’d argue that the real highlight of this track is Ben Duerr. If you don’t think so already, it’s hard not to call him the best vocalist in deathcore. The guy is a monster and I have a feeling this is only the beginning.
The time is now to discover Shadow Of Intent. Check out “Embracing Nocturnal Damnation” and let these vampire melodies put a curse on you! \m/
