I clicked on this video for the girl, but I stayed for the music!

I grew up on AC/DC. I vividly remember riding around in the back of my parents station wagon during the early ‘80s listening to “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap”. Their hard rocking no-nonsense approach paired with Bon Scott’s atypical voice and tongue in cheek lyrics had me sold. I’ve been following AC/DC since I was thirteen years old.

AC/DC has sold more than 200 million records worldwide, including 75 million albums in the United States alone. They are the 16th-best-selling artists in the world. Such a pedigree has obviously spawned its share of emulators (Airbourne and Dirty Looks come to mind) but I would have never guessed Bon’s infamous delivery would be reborn in Béthune, France.

OVERDRIVERS is from Béthune, France born in 2015. So far, this group has released two full length albums: Rockin’ Hell (2016) & She’s On Her Period (2018) via ROAR! Rock Of  Angles Records. A new music video entitled “High Mountains” was recently released to remind us they are still out there and poised to take the Covid-19 free concert season by storm.

I’ll admit, I clicked on this video for the girl, but I stayed for the music! “High Mountains” is a performance offering with plenty of eye candy to keep your attention.  It is hard not to get excited about a scantily clad woman dancing around while guitars are plugged into amps.  As far as their sound goes, this band loves the simplicity of Australian rock.

Featuring a delivery that screams Bon Scott and catchy lyrics focusing on the benefits of female anatomy it’s hard not to think of old school AC/DC. Song titles like “The Best Blowjob In History”, “Show Your Boobies” and “She’s On Her Period” makes me consider a Steel Panther meets AC/DC fusion.

I’ve just discovered Overdrivers and I want to share them with you. Check out “High Mountains” and let these amusingly powerful cords entertain you! \m/
