From the driving riffs and aggressive vocals to the unusual arrangements and staggering time signatures. MaYaN has proven once again why they sit at the top of the melodic death metal heap.
MaYaN hails from the Netherlands has been active since 2010. Their latest effort, Dhyana, was released last September via Nuclear Blast.
MaYaN’s music could be considered symphonic death metal but the utilization of five different vocalists: two females and three males, puts them into a class all their own.
Their latest video “The Power Process” is a compellingly theatrical offering with a few performance clips thrown in. In line with the thought-provoking tragedy of the “Saints Don’t Die” video released last year. The storyline follows a dejected employee and his desire for retaliation. These visuals are compelling and the varying vocals seem to extenuate the emotions we see on screen. This tragic tale and song both have a ton of replay ability.
From the driving riffs and aggressive vocals to the unusual arrangements and staggering time signatures. MaYaN has proven once again why they sit at the top of the melodic death metal heap. Check out “The Power Process” and let the melancholy vibes of MaYaN brainwash you! \m/
