I find myself waiting for Lamb of God records with the same excitement as waiting for new Megadeth releases when I was 16-17…
How can a band be so consistent over three decades? Quality is the only answer. Lamb of God has been delivering formidable music since their inception.
Lamb of God is an American heavy metal band from Richmond, Virginia. Originally formed in 1994 as Burn the Priest, the group is considered a pillar of the new wave of ‘American Heavy Metal Movement’, along with Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot and Trivium.
It’s been 28 years and Lamb of God are still going strong. They will always be one of my favorite metal bands, no matter how many other acts end up a spoke on metal’s mighty wheel of steel.
Lamb of God has released an amazing eight studio albums. Number nine, Omens, is set to be unveiled on October 7th, 2022, via Epic Records. A new music video has just been released for the self-titled track.
A performance offering with some malicious theatrics woven in, “Omens” is a tongue and cheek portrayal of human vulgarity. The storyline follows a curator’s ‘freak show’, where the foulness of humanity is the main attraction. Carnival professionals perform dangerous stunts, such as fire eating or sword swallowing. The performances are rigged as the actors die, one after another.
The crowd of onlookers, despite their shock, continue watching this morbidity. Thinking they are safe, they all ignore these ‘Bad Omens’ and ultimately end up dead!
A rare combination of sight and sound, I can’t put into words the beauty of it! A near perfect song, Randy’s vocals are still amazing after all these years. I find myself waiting for Lamb of God records with the same excitement as waiting for new Megadeth releases when I was 16-17…
Lamb of God are just killing it! Check out “Omens” and experience one of the greatest metal band’s of all time! \m/
