Kreator’s live execution is flawless at this stage of their career and if this performance clip is any indication of the quality of this effort, we are in for a thrashing treat.
Along with Destruction, Sodom and Tankard, Kreator has always been referred to as one of the ‘Big Four’ of Teutonic thrash metal. Although, these are undoubtedly some great accolades. I’d argue Kreator’s impact should really be examined on a worldly scale. Kreator are one of the greatest thrash bands of all time! With origins dating back to 1982 (as Metal Militia), this moniker from Germany has been entertaining the Earth nearly since their inception.
In the beginning, European thrash metal offered a blasphemous bite American groups just couldn’t replicate. A lot of people believe the impact of Slayer led to death metal in the United States. I believe that to be only partially true. In my mind, it’s hard not to include the influence of Kreator who’s menacing riffs brought lambs to the slaughter and pleasure to the kill. In 1987, all my friends and I really listened to was Death, Kreator and Slayer.
Now Kreator has returned with a new live music video for the track “Enemy Of God”. The 2005 self-titled track is offered in celebration of the band’s new live Blu-ray/DVD entitled: London Apocalypticon – Live at the Roundhouse out now via Nuclear Blast.
“Enemy Of God” is Kreator at their best, on a stage with an enormous mosh pit in front of them. It’s easy feel the excitement this band brings. A celebration of blasphemy all should witness!
Kreator’s live execution is flawless at this stage of their career and if this performance clip is any indication of the quality of this effort, we are in for a thrashing treat.
Kreator has proven once again why they are one of the greatest thrash bands of all time. Check out the “Enemy Of God” music video and pick up a copy of London Apocalypticon – Live at the Roundhouse. Let the audio violence known as Kreator let out a riot in you! \m/
