The music is merciless, a bloodthirsty punishment of harmony. The lyrics exemplify the mocking attitude we’ve come to expect from Jungle Rot.
I’ve been a fan of Jungle Rot since I first discovered them back in the late ’90s. I’ve always thought their relaxed sense of destruction made them unique to death metal.
Following the band closely these past few years, I’ve witnessed their progression and subsequent rise in popularity. Jungle Rot was seemingly on their way to the top of the death metal heap when the pandemic intervened.
The end of Victory Records certainly came as a shock to me and I began to wonder if Jungle Rot would continue? A soldier never gives up on the field of battle and this isn’t a band likely to wimp out on their career. I am proud to announce Jungle Rot is ready continue their verbal assault on humanity!
A new offering entitled, A Call To Arms will be released on May 13th via Unique Leader Records, a music visualizer has just been released to hype the effort.
“Total Extinction” is a lyrical offering with some awesome visuals. There’s some cool animation of the Jungle Rot ‘war chief’ paying homage to the dead but the real point of this release is the music. “Total Extinction” is merciless a track. A bloodthirsty punishment of harmony. The lyrics exemplify the mocking attitude we’ve come to expect from Jungle Rot. It’s clear the band is back from the undergrowth and ready to take aim. Bullets and blood, what more could you want?
Check out Jungle Rot’s latest gauntlet and accept their diabolical call to arms! \m/
