The music is as stirring as the onscreen battle. A symphonic attack laced with death that is sure to leave you lying on the battle floor!

Boobs, battle and blood. That about sums up the new video effort from Ex Deo.

If you’re unaware, Ex Deo is the side project of Kataklysm vocalist Maurizio Iacono. The group has been active since 2008 and the latest effortThe Immortal Wars will be released on February 24th via Napalm Records.

The visual offering “The Roman” opens with an orgy and there is a LOT of eye candy. This isn’t the kind of video you want to be viewing at work, unless you’re part of the adult film industry. The plot follows a Roman Emperor who appears to be more interested in fighting than fucking. He’s the only Roman not susceptible to women and wine and it’s because of him the approach of the enemy is discovered. Soon all of the men are prepared for battle.

The mannerisms in this effort are outstanding. The shots of the band jamming outside in fields are breathtaking. The Mad Max meets Gladiator garb of the group is awesome. It adds to the overall look of the video by making it seem tougher, even more volatile.

The battle scenes are better than expected, teeth are clenched and blood is flying. The climax where the leader of the invaders realizes he has no troops left is memorable. My favorite part of the video is in the middle when Maurizio get his soldiers ready for battle. He cuts his hand and holds it up to his men. Palm dripping with blood, the troops are ready to fight.

The music is as stirring as the onscreen battle. A symphonic attack laced with death that is sure to leave you lying on the battle floor!

“The Roman” is a fantastic visual offering. It is a successful intermingling of audio extremity and violence brought to life. Check out this new video from Ex Deo and learn what it means to be Roman. \m/
