This new music video is a deceptive assault on your senses, a performance clip filled with a lot of frenzied warrior imagery. Blood and backstabbing, what more would you expect from a song called betrayal?
Few thrash acts have the metal pedigree of Destruction. Pioneers of Germany’s Teutonic Thrash Metal scene along with Tankard, Kreator and Sodom, the band has been destroying audiences since 1982!
The group’s latest record, Born to Perish, is due out on August 9th via Nuclear Blast and it has me excited. This new release will feature two guitarists! Damir Eskić, the latest addition, marks the first Destruction album to feature two guitarists since The Least Successful Human Cannon Ball (1998). When we consider Destruction albums that actually matter, it’s 1990’s Cracked Brain, which ironically does not feature Schmier on bass / vocals. If you are a Destruction purist like me, we’d have to go back to 1987’s Release from Agony to find a twin guitar attack that really matters.
This new music video is a deceptive assault on your senses, a performance clip filled with a lot of frenzied warrior imagery. Blood and backstabbing, what more would you expect from a song called betrayal? The scene where the human heart is stabbed with a knife is especially prophetic.
Destruction never betray their roots. Check out “Betrayal” and let this new thrash anthem bring out the treachery in you! \m/
