Decapitated is a great live act. The “Veins” music video was an interesting concept and a memorable offering but seeing these Polish death metal greats rocking out in breathtaking landscapes is awe inspiring.

The Polish death metal legends are back with a follow up to 2014’s highly successful Blood Mantra. The new album entitled, Anticult, is scheduled for release this month via Nuclear Blast Records.

“Earth Scar” is the second video offering for the upcoming release and opens like an Evil Dead movie. A dark woods leading to a desolate stream, high speed camera shots over water but what we assume to be evil is really a spiritual offering.

The side plot involving the old man, a once great warrior now completely at one with nature is compelling. There are some minor suggestions the old man and the flying animal are really one.

The shot where the bird lands near the band is outstanding. I especially love the scene where the old man throws the dust into the fire, a shaman controlling one of the earth’s oldest elements.

The shots of the fire goddess are very strange. The superimposed lines put in the video brings it to another level of complexity. The images of the fire free forming are nothing short of amazing and accommodate an unbelievable guitar solo. A rising collection of notes bringing out the spirits!

Decapitated is back with a new set of death metal grooves. Check out “Earth scar” and don’t let your environment leave a scar on you! \m/
