A performance offering with theatrics woven in, the storyline is as brutal as the music. Fiery flames, witches and coffins, this is a tale about the end.
I will always have an affection for music videos. They changed the game for the artist. A pairing of sound and style, utilizing visuals to promote an aspiring moniker.
Crypta is new to the metal scene (established in 2019) and they have tons of aspiration. The basis of Crypta is grounded with longtime veterans. Fernanda Lira (Vocals, Bass) and Luana Dametto (Drums) are both ex-members of the Brazilian thrash band Nervosa. Sonia Anubis (Guitar) is formerly of the heavy metal group Burning Witches and Tainá Bergamaschi (Guitar) is an ex-member of the folk metal act Hagbard.
With a pedigree like this it’s hard not to expect great things from Crypta. Their debut release, Echoes Of The Soul, is set to hit the streets on June 11th via Napalm Records. A new music video, “From The Ashes” has given us reason to be excited.
“From The Ashes” couldn’t be more aptly titled. Rising from the wreckage of their past break-ups, these succubi are ready to start anew and they are doing it with a vengeance! Coming from a Brazilian/Dutch death metal quartet I’d expect nothing less. This music is frightening, a lucid determination to suffer eternal damnation. A performance offering with theatrics woven in, the storyline is as brutal as the music. Fiery flames, witches and coffins, this is a tale about the end.
A casket is dragged with chains across the barren Earth, tossed into a freshly dug grave and set to an unholy flame. Are we born of fire? The viewer is left to wonder if this is the final conclusion or only a heated beginning.
Crypta has put a hex on me and I urge you to let them bewitch you. Check out “From The Ashes” and witness the rebirth of trendsetting death metal! \m/
