The music video for “Let Sleeping Corpses Lie” is all about ambiance. From the movie style opening to the use of grainy film stock, these visuals bring you back to the ‘70s.

Bloody Hammers is a doom metal band hailing from Transylvania County, North Carolina. Founded in 2012, this two-member project has released three full length albums with a fourth effort, The Summoning, set for release on June 24th via Napalm Records.

Honestly, I’d never heard of this group until I saw an advertisement for the video “Let Sleeping Corpses Lie”. Being a huge fan of the Jorge Grau zombie film also known as The Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue and Don’t Open the Window I knew I had to check it out.

The music video for “Let Sleeping Corpses Lie” is all about ambiance. From the movie style opening to the use of grainy film stock, these visuals bring you back to the ‘70s. A foggy graveyard serves as the back drop of this performance offering with clips of coffins, skulls and spiders thrown in. My favorite part of this effort is when the hourglass turns upside down and an unnatural mist seemingly animates the dead.

The throwback horror style of Bloody Hammers has my attention and they should have yours too. Check out this new video and if you happen to be walking past a graveyard and a spooky owl flies overhead, run! \m/
