Who cares if the music follows a well-worn formula? Death metal is often repetitive. Emotion is what defines a memorable attack and Tormented By Faith is full of it.

Death and religion have always been a choice topic of death metal. The dark underbelly of society is full of sensational crimes. A never ending fire of gluttony, false truths and lust. Making it a perpetual victim of death metal’s unyielding wrath.

Uerberos is a band from Poland. The group has been active since 2015 and plays a classic style of death metal so brutally vicious, blood is likely to ooze from your ear drums!

Their debut effort, Tormented By Faith, was self-released by the band earlier this year. Speed and precision are the weapons of choice for Uerberos. The production values are rock solid and capture the surgical attack with stunning clarity. Who cares if the music follows a well-worn formula? Death metal is often repetitive. Emotion is what defines a memorable attack and Tormented By Faith is full of it. The raw energy is abundant and the music contains enough unexpected turns to please any fan. Highlight tracks for me are: “Destroy The Enemy”, “Tormented By Faith”, “Back Emissary” and “Respect For Death”.

I thought Uerberos’ new effort would be the perfect offering for the 2017 edition of my famed ‘Intersection Test’. In this evaluation, I judge an album’s volatility by pulling up to a busy intersection with my car’s windows down and the album jamming. The more people offended, the better the album!

Uerberos made me proud. Tormented By Faith annoyed the fuck out of nearly everyone! Plenty of businessmen and truckers put up their windows and glanced shyly away. One lady shook her head in disgust. As she put her window up, her son in the back seat put his window down! He threw me the horns as mommy sped away!

Check out this fantastically offensive offering by Uerberos and don’t let faith torment you! \m/
