This three song effort is impressive as hell. Speedy riffs and flashy solos, memorable vocals with solid choruses that actually work.

Toxik is a storied thrash act from Westchester, New York. Established back in 1985, the band released two memorable albums: World Circus (1987) and Think This (1989) then folded uneventfully in 1992. The group has been reformed twice since that time. This new edition, re-established in 2013 has a new EP called Breaking Class dropping this month and it’s truly a worthy effort.

When hearing about this EP I wondered, what does a band like Tokix have left in the tank? I saw them open for King Diamond (Conspiracy) back in the day, their quirky ‘circus style’ of thrash always has resonated well with me. Could Toxik recapture that peculiar sound? My impression, the carny thrash attack is back!

This three song effort is impressive as hell. Speedy riffs and flashy solos, memorable vocals with solid choruses that actually work. This is one effort that is actually worthy of the buzz! Highlight tracks are: “Stand Up”, “Breaking Class” and “Psyop”.

Toxik is back. Like a noxious gas, their contagious style of metal is once again permeating the masses. Check out this new EP and let Toxik’s Breaking Class poison you! \m/
