If you like your metal fast with riffs hell bent on world destruction, this is for you!
Savagery (2009) from Chicago are out to shred some blood! I got into this group a couple of years ago when they opened for Destruction and Warbringer. I love bands influenced by ‘old school’ crossover, thrash and grind. That kind of frenzied attack really gets my blood pumping. Savagery sold me with rabid a cover of Megadeth’s “Rattlehead”.
Now Savagery has been reawakened in a new track entitled “Vibing the Hatred”. If you like your metal fast with riffs hell bent on world destruction, this is for you! It reminds me of the Cro-Mags meets Slayer (early). The metal is disciplined, dirty and determined. Thrash origins capitalized on the punishment of posers, it was everything glam metal wasn’t and that’s what pushed The Big Four into the spotlight. Savagery are revising the vibe, this is an attack on the entire mainstream and it’s hard not to identify with it.
Savagery have hit a cord with this offering. Today’s metal is so stylized and convoluted the energy is often misdirected. A stripped down, go for the throat assault is a revitalizing way to get your point across. Give Savagery’s “Vibing The Hatred” a listen. \m/
