For Dust Thou Art continues Pale Horseman’s tradition of mixing up the apocalyptic sludge.
I’m a fan of Pale Horseman. They first caught my attention back in 2014 when I saw them open for The Skull at Reggies (2015 S. State Street Chicago, IL). Their doom eats death sound had me instantly hooked. The band has been releasing new material steadily since 2013’s self-titled effort but this latest offering (due out on July 31st) is certainly their best yet.
For Dust Thou Art continues Pale Horseman’s tradition of mixing up the apocalyptic sludge. The dual vocal attack and shadowy guitar work of Eric Ondo and Andre ‘Flesh’ Almaraz opens a new layer of the underworld, daring us to delve further into the abyss. The drums of Jason Schryver are at the forefront of this nocturnal crusade.
Combining his efforts with the punishing bass lines of Rich Cygan, the sound of Pale Horseman has never been more complete. Highlight tracks for me are: “Tundra”, “Scourge”, “Archangel” and “Cydonia”.
Pale Horseman are riding once again. Check out For Dust Thou Art and let these cataclysmic hymns become a battle cry for your decimation! \m/
