This church of metal has been reborn.  The spark of Howe on vocals has been revitalizing and this string of visual efforts has made me believe this union is here to stay.

I often wish life was a video game. Difficult tasks could be attempted again and again. Time wouldn’t matter and life and death would have no real meaning. If things ever got too difficult or I ran out of lives, I could just press the reset button.

Metal Church has managed to reset. Once again a force to be reckoned with. The band’s path back to the limelight has been nothing short of compelling. Discarded by an inability to re-capture the magic, Metal Church found itself flushed into the bowels of mediocrity. A once proud moniker living off dedication and drive alone. Successful groups are like well-oiled machines. The integral parts are required to unleash that special power. Metal Church is no exception. An unlikely reunion brought the band back from beyond the black. A juggernaut in need of a voice and a voice with a desire to be heard.

Riding the waves of this new found success, Metal Church has released a video for the song “Reset”. One of the strongest tunes off the XI release and a personal favorite of mine. “Reset” is a performance video with some really cool visual effects which are seemingly tied directly to the lyrics. The line “Look into my eyes” is like looking through a novelty fishbowl, the blue water and plastic submersibles seemingly come to life. Some later effects make Mike Howe look like Neo dodging bullets in The Matrix, his movements are so colorfully enhanced they seem otherworldly.

This church of metal has been reborn.  The spark of Howe on vocals has been revitalizing and this string of visual efforts has made me believe this union is here to stay.

The time is now to show your allegiance to the Metal Church, check out this new video and experience your own metal reset! \m/
