Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the doctor! Metal Church has returned with a follow-up to their highly successful XI album. A new live offering featuring all the classic Metal Church tracks. The official Rat Pak Records release date for Metal Church’s “Classic Live” is Friday April 28, 2017.

Promoting this upcoming release is a new video for the song “Fake Healer” featuring Queensryche’s Todd La Torre! Following some of the ‘medical themes’ laid forth in the “Needle and Suture’ visual released last year. This video is laced with an acrid sarcasm, assaulting the viewer with a disdain for modern medical practice.

Everyone in the waiting room has their eyes covered with coins. They are visionless to the inadequate service they will receive and apparently also prepared to die. The staff are indifferent, they move like robots. Intentionally blind, they go through the motions with little thought that their customers are actually human beings!

There is a Hellraiser vibe to this video. Like a horror hospital, filled with malicious characters, maniacal doctors and long desolate passages. I half expected Pinhead to appear out of nowhere with a scalpel! I especially love the scene near the end of the video were the doctor prepares to operate with dirty, rusty looking instruments. The implied priest drinking from a flask cut out of the bible is priceless.

Musically, this is Metal Church – the dual vocals of Howe and La Torre make this a worthy rendition. La Torre sings with a strength and clarity few metal vocalists have and Howe really seems to be coming back into his own as a singer. He has one of the most recognizable voices in metal and I’m glad to have him back on a stage.

Metal Church’s “Fake Healer” features a strong message that could not have come at a better time. People matter not currency. So much money is wasted on modern health care that we apparently have it to burn. Check out this new visual offering by Metal Church and don’t waste your money on a fake healer!! \m/
