As captivating as this story line is the best part of the video is the band itself. I’ll admit that I was worried Howe’s reunion would be the band’s final turn. I am glad to see it is not.
Metal Church is one of my all-time favorite bands. Although their music kicks total ass, the way the band presents themselves as a whole is what draws me to them. We all know that a couple of years ago, Metal Church was walking the line of extinction when vocalist Mike Howe made his triumphant return to the group.
A highly anticipated reunion the band could have easily capitalized on but instead of charging their fans for autographs and photos, Metal Church hung out and did it for free. The band made themselves available until every last fan was satisfied. Heavy metal is about camaraderie and Metal Church has it in spades. There will always be a draw for the group who puts the fan first. Now the band is back with a new offering, Damned If You Do, set to be released on December 7th 2018 via Rat Pak Records.
A new video has been released for the title track and it is worthy of your eyes. A performance offering with a subplot of intense contemplation. A man sitting in a chair (Mike Howe) pondering shallow a decision. This dilemma appears tainted from the start. Capitalizing on a classic tale of temptation, a demon hovers about, urging him in the wrong direction.
As captivating as this story line is the best part of the video is the band itself. I’ll admit that I was worried Howe’s reunion would be the band’s final turn. I am glad to see it is not. If this new material is any indication of what Metal Church has in store, I can’t wait to bang my head!
