In an age where metal’s masters are hanging it up, it’s good to see icons like Robb Flynn still going strong. Check out this new video from Machine Head and let these kaleidoscopic visions entrance you!

Machine Head is a band that I never really got into. I’ve always appreciated guitarist Robb Flynn because I’m a huge fan of the thrash acts Vio-Lence and Forbidden but the groove metal style of Machine Head escaped my attention until now.

I was surprised to learn Machine Head has been active since 1991. With the grunge movement looming, it’s surprising to hear about a successful metal band forming but Machine Head overcame that obstacle and many more. The Machine Head discography includes eight studio efforts, number nine is entitled, Catharsis, and it’s due out January 26th via Nuclear Blast Records.

Videos utilizing kaleidoscopic visions seems to be a trend but Machine Head has taken things to another level with their current effort, “Kaleidoscope”. This is a performance video based on a collision of images. These fast paced warped visuals should not be viewed on acid. Solid riffs and some memorable lyrics make this a worthy effort. My favorite parts involve the dancing model, these visuals are truly weird. It’s not often you see two breasts morph into four! This video has it all but you might have to view it a couple of times before you actually see it.
