This is an epic tale of good versus evil and it’s clear from the ending who won.

Disharmony is a heavy metal band from Greece. They’ve been active in some form since 1996. I discovered them last year when I reviewed their sophomore effort, The Abyss Noir. I appreciated their revamped metal sound and was pleased to learn the group has released a new video for the song “Vain Messiah”.

One of the best tracks on the album, the video for “Vain Messiah” is thought provoking to say the least. The vision opens with a view of Earth from outer space. A woman appears on the planet.  Representing a messiah, she wears white to imply an innocence but is ignored by her followers who wear expressionless white masks.

It appears mankind would rather be tainted by the devil, in the form of a man with smoldering red eyes, than follow the innocence of the redeemer. This is an epic tale of good versus evil and it’s clear from the ending who won. My favorite part of the video is near the end when the woman uses the cross to slit her wrist. The world no longer wishes to be saved. The demon’s eyes flash as he lets a wry smile loose. The message is profound and presented in a climactic way. The music and visuals are queued to perfection.

Disharmony continues to impress. Check out “Vain Messiah” and let this heartless perception become a part of your own self-serving reality! \m/
