A performance offering featuring a cold desolate backdrop that any fan of this dark music is sure to appreciate.

Sometimes I feel like I missed out on the black metal act Immortal. Although the group has been around since 1991, I didn’t discover the band until 2006 when Tower Records went out of business. I hit the location in Schaumburg, IL just after Thanksgiving and spent my Christmas bonus buying black metal CDs. Immortal’s Sons of Northern Darkness was among them. It was one of my favorite black metal albums back then and it still is today.

I was initially disappointed when I heard Abbath left Immortal and embarked on solo career. When I finally heard his self-titled release, I was ready to burn down a fucking church. Abbath has more than filled my black metal needs with his trademark style of music.

Now Abbath has returned with a new record entitled: Outstrider which will be released on July 05, 2019 via Season of Mist. A new video for the song “Harvest Pyre” has been released to hype the effort.

The music video for “Harvest Pyre” is a feast for your frigid eyes. A performance offering featuring a cold desolate backdrop that any fan of this dark music is sure to appreciate. This whole offering has an epically freezing appeal. The black and white approach seemingly gives these visuals even more power. A battle on the frozen tundra, frenzy and fire, possessed women, what more could you want? Maybe a battle axe in your back!

Abbath has started a blaze. Check out this new video and let the smoldering embers of “Harvest Pyre” set your world aflame! \m/
