SINAYA – Maze Of Madness

Written by David Halbe

A true conjuring of beauty and the beast, Maze of Madness is a solid meshing of ‘old school’ death and thrash.

The gender barriers within metal should be nonexistent. Male or female an artist is an artist.  Metal is our lifeblood, if something rocks, it rocks.

Sinaya is an extreme metal act from São Paulo, Brazil and they rock! The group has been active in some form since 2010 and are about to drop their debut release, Maze of Madness, on August 10th via Brutal Records.

I’d been jamming this album steadily for about a month when I finally decided to write this review. I looked up the group on Facebook and found out the band members were women! A true conjuring of beauty and the beast, Maze of Madness is a solid meshing of ‘old school’ death and thrash. There’s a subtlety aggressive vibe to this album that cannot be denied. The atmosphere, lyrics and sequencing creates a unique tone which enriches the listener with a grotesque ambiance. Highlight tracks for me are: “Abyss to Death”, “Bath of Memories”, “Crowd in Panic”, “Deep in the Grave” and “Life Against Fate”.

There is no doubt this is an act on the rise. I urge you to check out Maze of Madness and get lost in the extreme brutality known as Sinaya. \m/
