This is an impressive sophomore effort offering a solid concept and sequence that boasts no fillers.

I’m a self-proclaimed thrash fanatic and I’m always on the lookout for new bands. I’ve had this addiction since the late ‘80s and have no interest in finding a cure.

Home Style Surgery from Finland is my most recent craving and I welcome you to join my fixation. Active since 2008, the musicality of this group is first rate, boasting a speed and complexity only weathered acts have mastered.

The vocals are awesome and one of the undisputed highlights of this effort. Vocalist Joel Mäntyranta comes off like an angry cross between Steve ‘Zetro’ Souza (Exodus) and James Rivera (Helstar), a great pedigree for a group looking to establish themselves further. This is a complex marriage of sound molded in a contagious style that cannot be denied. Highlight tracks for me are: “Explore the Dimensions”, “Atomosphobia”, “The Red Ripper Case”, “Haunted Mindscape” and “Trauma Gallery”.

Trauma Gallery is a metal album that you can listen to all the way through. There’s enough hardcore riffing and blazing solos to satisfy any metal appetite. This is an impressive sophomore effort offering a solid concept and sequence that boasts no fillers. The album drops May 25th via Punishment 18 Records. I urge you to check out Home Style Surgery and let their unique style of trauma stir you! \m/
